On this page you will find BIA criteria and checklists based on the best practices determined by the DECA/WoodGreen Pop Up Shop Project. As well, there are links to other global community BIA pages that have held their own Pop Up Projects.
Tips to start your own Pop Up Project
Tip One: Start by using the Pop Up Shop Project criteria list to determine the neighbourhood that would best benefit from a Pop Up Project.
Tip Two: Go through the BIA Pop Up Feasibility checklist to ensure that you are able to successfully create a Pop Up Project. This will identify if your vacancy rates, funding and resources are able to support a project.
Tip Three: Download our Pop-up Shops Building Vibrant Streets fact sheet.
Tip Four: Write a proposal and action plan for the project. It is important to know what additional funding you need, who your can reach out as a sponsor, and your timeline. Aspects that you are able to highlight are community engagement, economic development and supporting local businesses.
